Monte San Vito - Tiny Town in Le Marche Region in Italy

Monte San Vito is a tiny town on a hill close to Ancona which is right by the Adriatic Sea in the Marche region. You have a beautiful view of the whole area from some spots in Monte San Vito as the town is on one of the highest hills in the region. There is an interesting church completely made of bricks – with a glass tomb that contains a skeleton… very random. There is a cemetery unlike any I have every seen before. You can also see a fun clock at the municipal building which is decorated with Italian flags on the outside walls. Overall, it seem like a town where everybody knows each other. Houses are passed down from generation to generation and time seems to have stopped in this little town. There are little bars where you can grab a drink or an espresso, but I didn’t see many restaurants. The only thing that would have made this visit more fun? A quick afternoon trip to the beach which is really close. I don’t remember why we didn’t go. Maybe we ran out of time? Probably! We did have a fun dinner over the rooftops of the city with a great view of the tower though.
